Charles Dudouyt Carved Oak Sideboard, France c.1940s

$6,450

Arriving early November

A French oak sideboard attributed to Charles Dudouyt, circa 1940s. Richly worked throughout, with Dudouyt’s characteristic combination of heavy proportions, geometric carving and traditional French craftsmanship.

The façade features deeply carved panelled doors with distinctive circular motifs, framed by incised detailing and a sculpted apron. A central bank of storage and drawer sits beneath the original timber top, giving the piece a strong architectural quality.

Constructed in solid oak with a beautifully aged, dark patina. A particularly decorative example of French modernist furniture from the period, balancing rustic craftsmanship with Dudouyt’s bold, graphic approach.
