Custom-Tailored Tibetan fur Armchairs, 1940's
An iconic 1940's deco armchair reimagined just for you. Upholstered in a luxuriously soft tan Tibetan lambswool, this piece balances bold sculptural form with irresistible tactility. The wide stance and low profile nod to Italian mid-century lounge culture, while the organic texture of the fur adds warmth and a quiet sense of drama.

Bespoke Ordering Guide
Upholstery & Finish Choices
Each chair is upholstered in Tibetan lambswool. The standard colourway is tan, and arm finishes are available in raw matte oak, deep walnut stain, or high-gloss black lacquer. If you'd like to discuss alternative upholstery options or see finish samples before committing, simply reach out via the enquiry form or email — we're happy to arrange that before any order is placed.
Restoration Scope
Every piece undergoes a full restoration in our Melbourne workshop. This includes structural re-webbing and re-springing of the seat, fresh upholstery application, and professional refinishing of all timber arm surfaces. The goal is a chair that looks and feels considered from every angle, while retaining the character of its 1940s origins.
How to Order
- Enquire first (recommended): Send us a message with your preferred arm finish and any questions. We'll confirm availability, share finish samples if needed, and provide a production timeline.
- Place your order: Once you're happy to proceed, purchase directly through this listing. A 50% deposit is collected at checkout; the balance is due prior to dispatch.
- Production begins: Your chair enters the workshop queue. We'll keep you updated and notify you when restoration is complete.
- Delivery or collection: We'll be in touch to arrange white-glove delivery or Melbourne workshop collection — whichever suits you best.
Delivery
Due to the size and weight of these chairs, delivery is arranged individually after your order is confirmed. We work with specialist furniture carriers to ensure your piece arrives safely. Delivery timeframes and costs will be confirmed at the time of booking — please contact us before purchasing if you need a delivery quote for your location.
Care Instructions
Tibetan lambswool is naturally resilient but benefits from gentle care. Shake or lightly brush the fur periodically to maintain its loft and remove dust. For spot cleaning, use a dry or barely damp cloth and blot — do not rub. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight, which can fade natural fibres over time. Professional fur cleaning is recommended for deeper cleans. The restored timber arms can be wiped with a soft dry cloth; avoid harsh chemical cleaners on the finished surfaces.
Returns & Bespoke Orders
Because each chair is made to order and restored to your chosen specifications, we are unable to accept returns or exchanges once production has commenced. Please take the time to review your finish selection and ask any questions before placing your order — we want you to be completely confident before we begin. If a chair arrives damaged in transit, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos and we will work to resolve it promptly.
