Set of Six Sculptural Oak & Rush Dining Chairs, c. 1960s

$6,600

A distinctive set of six mid-century dining chairs in oak and woven rush, featuring sculptural razor-blade backrests and unusual X-shaped bases.

The chairs are defined by their carved, undulating back rails, which bring a decorative quality to the otherwise simple timber frames. Handwoven rush seats introduce a natural texture and warmth, contrasting with the strong architectural lines of the oak.

The design draws on the work of Henning Kjærnulf and French designers Guillerme et Chambron, combining traditional craftsmanship with a more expressive, sculptural approach to furniture making.

A beautifully considered set, with a lovely balance of rustic character and refined detailing.
