Charles Dudouyt Geometric Carved Oak Cabinet, c.1940s

$5,890

Coming November

An exceptional large-scale French oak sideboard attributed to Charles Dudouyt, dating to the 1940s. The richly carved façade features Dudouyt’s distinctive concentric circular motifs repeated across three panelled doors, alongside rows of smaller carved medallions and three drawers above. Original decorative metal hardware adds another layer of detail to the graphic, architectural form.

Crafted in solid oak with a deep, warm patina, the generous proportions and density of carving give this piece a particularly strong presence. Typical of Dudouyt’s work, it combines traditional French cabinetmaking with the bold geometric language that would later become associated with French Brutalist design.

A substantial and highly decorative piece, equally suited as a sideboard, storage cabinet or statement piece in a living or dining space.

Small holes in top have been filled.
