A characterful French oak buffet attributed to Charles Dudouyt, dating to the 1940s. The compact form features two panelled doors with Dudouyt’s distinctive deeply carved concentric circular motifs, complemented by geometric starburst detailing to the drawers above.
Crafted in solid oak with a warm, aged patina, the piece retains its original decorative metal hardware and beautifully expressive grain. The strong carved forms and slightly rustic construction are typical of Dudouyt’s work, combining traditional French craftsmanship with the bold, graphic language that would later influence French Brutalism.
