Art Deco French Brutalist Sideboard, 1930's

$8,800

Coming July

A striking French Art Deco sideboard from the 1930s, defined by its sculptural geometry and quietly monumental form. Crafted in solid oak, the facade features deeply carved cubist relief panels centred by rounded sphere motifs, balanced by a delicately hand-carved floral panel through the middle, a subtle contrast to the otherwise architectural silhouette.

Recently sanded back to its raw timber, the piece now carries a soft, natural finish that highlights the grain and warmth of the oak while retaining the character and patina gathered over decades. Resting on a sweeping plinth base with oversized cylindrical detailing, the proportions feel both grounded and unexpectedly modern.

An understated statement piece that sits somewhere between French Art Deco and early Brutalist design, equally suited to a dining space, entry, or pared-back living interior.
