Bauhaus Armchair by Erich Dieckmann, 1925
Elegantly created in the Bauhaus/Art Deco style. The frame is steam-bent beech wood with eye-catching armrests, and the seat and backrest are braided rope (in original condition).
Erich Dieckmann is one of the most important furniture designers of the Bauhaus movement. His designs are strictly geometric with almost square square or flat wood. For this he used high-quality woods such as ash, beech, cherry or oak. He also experimented with tubular steel such as Bauhaus member Marcel Breuer.
Age related patina to arms and one thread missing in the seat (See image)
