A striking pair of French armchairs dating to the mid-20th century, featuring sculptural black wrought iron frames with sweeping curved supports, twisted iron detailing and brass ball finials.
The chairs balance decorative French ironwork with a restrained, architectural silhouette. Their generous proportions and unusual open frames give them a strong sculptural presence.
Upholstered in original softly striped textile in muted shades of sand, blush and cream, bringing warmth and contrast to the dark ironwork. The fabric shows some age with fading and marks mainly on the back of the chairs. (as seen in the image) Reupholstery is available.
