Wicker and pine needle table and stools, France, 1980s

$1,450

A highly rare and unusual beautifully crafted set sourced from France, meticulously woven from real pine needles. Each visible strand is an individual longleaf pine needle, carefully dried and interlaced to form a swirling, textured surface — a technique rooted in Indigenous North American and Mexican craft traditions, and rarely seen in European design.

The central structure is made from slender metal tubing, providing durability while keeping the forms lightweight. The pine needles are secured discreetly at the seams beneath each piece using fine rope binding. The tops of the stools are woven flat in a striking spiral pattern, giving the set a natural yet sculptural quality.

A rare example of artisanal design with cultural depth.
